Confined Space Working

The course is designed for operatives who may be required to enter confined spaces.  Upon successful completion of the course, the operative/employer will be issued with a certificate of basic training.

AIM:

To provide an awareness of the hazards present when working in confined spaces and the potential of harm to personnel if correct preventive measures are not introduced and documented.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

On completion of the course delegates should:

  • have a basic understanding of laws and statutes.

  • be able to evaluate hazardous substances present.

  • understand the requirement for a permit to work system and how it operates.

  • understand the long and short term effects of hazardous substances.

PREREQUISITES:

  • The operative should be medically fit to carry out the course.

  • Have a basic understanding of confined space working.

TRAINING AT YOUR PREMISES.

The course commences at 0900hrs through 1600hrs.  Please note the following requirements of the instructor prior to commencement of the course:

  • Accommodation to be used as a temporary classroom for theory tuition.

  • Area to which training can be conducted away from work activities.

  • Operatives should not be expected to carry out work activities whilst on the training program.
