Safety Awareness

The course is designed to ensure candidates acquire an understanding of general health and safety issues, enabling operatives to adopt a pro-active approach toward safety in the workplace.  Upon successful completion of the course the delegate or employer will be issued with a basic certificate of training.

AIM:

To ensure personnel attain a level of awareness in terms of legal and moral obligation under various laws, statutes and companies policies and procedures in place.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

On completion of the course delegates should understand:

  • reasons for ensuring a positive safety culture.

  • their responsibilities with regard to health and safety law.

  • their responsibilities with regard to the companies safety management system.

  • the companies risk assessment process and the employees roll.

  • general safe working practices.

PREREQUISITES:

  • The operative should be medically fit to carry out the course.

  • Have a basic understanding of safety in the workplace.

TRAINING AT YOUR PREMISES.

The course commences at 0900hrs through 1600hrs.  Please note the following requirements of the instructor prior to commencement of the course:

  • Accommodation to be used as a temporary classroom for theory tuition.

  • Area to which training can be conducted away from work activities.

Operatives should not be expected to carry out work activities whilst on the training program.
