Safe Use of Work Equipment

The course covers a wide range of subjects and is designed to give delegates a general feel for safe work practices in the workplace.

On successful completion of the course delegates or the employer will be issued with a basic certificate of attendance and formal training. 

Aim:

• To provide candidates with knowledge of safe working practices.

• To provide candidates with knowledge of protective and preventive measures to reduce risks.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the course delegates shall have a good all round awareness of:

• legislation

• risk assessment

• operational hazards

• PPE / RPE

• COSHH

• excavations

• fire causation and prevention

• manual handling

• mechanical handling

• electricity at work

Prerequisites:

• The operative should be medically fit to carry out the course.

• Have a basic understanding of health and safety.

TRAINING AT YOUR PREMISES.

The course commences at 0900hrs through 1600hrs.  Please note the following requirements of the instructor prior to commencement of the course:

• Accommodation to be used as a temporary classroom for theory tuition.

• Area to which training can be conducted away from work activities.

• Operatives should not be expected to carry out work activities whilst on the training program.
